David Heath CBE MP?Minister of State for Agriculture and Food kept people waiting in the cold this morning for a ceremonial tree planting on the corner of Market Place and Great Portland Street.?

The liquid amber tree was planted to celebrate the completion of more than 500 trees planted on the streets of Fitzrovia and Marylebone by the W1W Tree Planting Initiative.

Among those waiting for the minister to arrive were children from All Souls School, St Vincent?s School, West End ward councillor Jonathan Glanz and Fitzrovia gallery owner Rebecca Hossack.

The ceremonial tree planting was due to take place at 10.00 and people were asked to arrive by 9.55, but the minister was delayed leaving children and adults standing around in the unseasonably cold weather at the planting site near Oxford Circus.
